Why FlyByFiber?
No more broken zippers, flimsy frame protection, overweight charges, and airlines denying damage claims.
Here’s how!
-
At sub 15 lbs, FlyByFiber is the lightest bike travel case on the market. Designed to be robust and compliant where needed to absorb impact without damage.
10 pounds lighter than leading soft bags.
15 pounds lighter than traditional hard cases.
The Result: A lower total case weight will save you money at the ticket counter on each flight!
-
Airlines deny damage claims for bikes packed in soft-shell bags. Because FlyByFiber is engineered as a hard case, airlines are liable if damage occurs to the case and/or your bicycle. Fly protected and with greater peace of mind!
-
Every bike is secured by the front axle mount, a strap over the bottom bracket, and a seat stay strap. This configuration triangulates fixture points to keep your bike solidly secured while packaged.
Mountain Bikes: Bars off, wheels off, and that’s it! Your derailleur, pedals, and rotors stay on for ease of packing and safe storage. And yes, your XL frame fits comfortably with the fork deflated (1350mm max wheelbase and up to 32” wheels because that is the future?).
Road/Gravel Bikes: Wheels off & stowed in wheel bags, drop the seat, and turn bars 90° in relation to the fork. Depending on the bike, seats and bars may need to be removed.
eBikes: Remove batteries following TSA regulations, and we can fit those too! Some extra measures may need to be taken to achieve the 50 lb limit.
-
Handy to Store: When not in use, the top clam shell nests neatly in the bottom to reduce storage size.
Extra Volume: The travel case is designed with a wide floor and spacious luggage compartment above the rear triangle for additional storage. At 612L it is larger than other similarly configured cases.
Our travel case is an ode to our composite aeronautical roots with lightweight and durable carbon fiber construction to bring you a sub 15lb hard-shell travel case to combat airlines’ hefty baggage surcharges and the growing weight of modern mountain bikes.
